Pinay Caregiver Wins X-factor Israel

Congratulations to Rose Fontanes for winning the first season of X-factor Israel. Rose Fontanes, who hails from the Philippines, works as a caregiver in Israel. Never has she imagined nor expected that she will make it to the competition. She started as a loner. I remember her crying because no one wants to talk to her or approach her but as the show goes on and her talent unfolds, she started winning the hearts of the people. Some of the songs that she performed on the show were "Beautiful", "Born This Way", "I Who have Nothing", "Bohemian Rhapsody". She has become a heavy favorite in the competition. By the way, her mentor Shiri, is so gorgeous. I love her! During the finals night she nailed the song "My Way" and got the judges standing. I'm so proud of you Rose. Your humility, good heart, and talent will surely bring you to places.

An Inconvenient Truth From Burma to Vatican

Life is an on-going learning process. It is a reality that we live day by day. But sometimes I feel there is more happening out there, that I need to explore and see it for myself. So instead of watching those sci-fi, rom com and horror flicks, I decided to watch some impressive documentaries that depicts relevant issues on the environment, politics and religion. These films have opened my eyes and stimulated my passion for learning. There is definitely a lot going on out there. We just have to expand our horizons.

Asia's Next Top Model Season 2: Episode 1

Asia's Next Top Model Season 2 has finally kicked-off! And for those who missed the first episode, "Who Walks the Walk", here is the video. I'm definitely rooting for Jodilly (Philippines), Thia (Thailand) and Thao (Vietnam). Jodilly has that exotic Filipina look. She's so humble, charming and cute. She definitely nailed that walk on the pool. Thia has the best face in the competition. Pretty Asian girl. Will it be a back to back win for Thailand? Thao definitely owned the photoshoot. She has that overwhelming confidence and she does it like a pro.

Overpriced and Sub-Standard Bunk Houses for Typhoon Yolanda Victims

This makes me feel quite furious. Another anomaly and corruption in our local government. Such a shame that our local officials are victimizing people who have been victims of a the Yolanda catastrophe already. Don't they have a heart? Why build an over-priced and substandard shelter when we have overwhelming funds received from foreign countries. When will this country learn? I've read that an investigation was already set to probe on this alleged anomaly. As for us people, we need to keep an eye on this and be more vigilant with what's happening around us. To all our government officials, please stop corruption and be decent individuals. After all, you won't be where you are without the people.

Just a short anecdote -  I was with my family and met this military guy while we were on a real estate event a few weeks ago. He said a multitude of foreign aid was received by the local government and the goods were already packed and distributed on big boxes. Take note that the victims are intended to get a box. However, once received, these boxes will be opened and then re-packed again into plastic bags. Per the source, during the re-packing stage, some of the goods (i.e. canned goods) were pulled out and were being sold on stores or malls. The source happened to drop by a grocery store and saw this canned good with a label at the back "not for sale".

I won't say more. Now it's for you to judge if this bunk house overpricing is true or not.

The Inheritors - Christmas Edition

"The Inheritors" starring Lee Min ho, Park Shin Hye and Kim Woo Bin, was definitely my favorite Korean drama for 2013. At first, I thought it would just be a "Boys Over Flowers" ver 2.0 due to its focus on teen life. But if you'll look deeper into the story, the characters have something different to offer. Though its genre is dedicated for the youngsters, the cast has shown some mature acting. The story revolves around the high school love triangle story of Kim Tan (Min Ho), Cha Eun Sang (Shin Hye) and Choi Young Do (Woo Bin). It also depicts the conflict within each character's family and how these conflicts affect their actions as dictated by their social status. With its charming characters, soaring ratings and fans screaming, "The Inheritors" is indeed the best Korean drama of 2013. Due to the fans' demands and so as to relieve the drama and the giggling moments, SBS (The TV network who airs The Inheritors) has consolidated all the scenes focusing on the love triangle story of the characters for a two-hour Christmas special. Bright idea isn't it?, especially for the fans who have been drawn to this series. So for those who missed it, please click the link below to reminisce those special moments. I hope you enjoy watching.

Chapter 2: Bolder But With A Heart

New year. New blog.

Well, not really. "The PJ Express" is actually deemed as the Chapter 2 of "The Chronicles of PJ Cruz (which happens to be my first ever blog). Chronicles was very personal to me because it depicted my journey for the last 5 years - from my overseas experiences, the lessons I've learned in life, the people I've met, the "first times" and a lot more. If you'll read it, it's a fusion of life and simple entertainment.

thechroniclesofjpc.blogspot.com

I don't know how "The PJ Express" would be different but I would like my readers to be more updated of what's happening to me or what's happening in the world. Probably venture out to more topics and ideas. Give tips or best practices. Post more photos and videos. Tackle not solely entertainment  but maybe economical, political, environmental or social issues as well. I want it to be more diverse and reach out to more people. Things that were left unsaid in "Chronicles" will definitely be reflected in this part 2 blog.

I guess I gotta need to pour  more of my heart and soul this time. I want it to be bolder and fiercer but with a heart.

So join me as I continue my journey in this life.
